Our Story Begins with a Girl
My name is Sahar Wahbeh and I am the founder of Dumyé, based in Dubai. I have been a designer for more than a decade, from NYC to Dubai, working on everything from developing brands for resort islands to designing boutique packaging for personal care products. But the story of Dumyé begins after this designer became a mom to an enchanting little girl.
It was the holidays and I wanted to gift her a really special doll you know, that one toy that would become symbolic of her childhood. Nothing I found captured my heart, so after a trip to NYC's garment district, I dusted off my mom's vintage sewing machine, made a workspace out of an old ping pong table, and got to it. Since 2013, I guess I just never stopped.
Dumyé has come to be a way for me to share with my daughter what she most needs to know: marry your passions with your life's work, find the courage to fulfill your potential, respect Mother Nature, show compassion for your fellow man, and understand that the real gift in life is in the giving.
My hope is that the lessons I wish to teach her will be the lessons we impart to all our children, and that together we will leave them a world that is better than the one we were born to. Welcome to the journey.

Meet Maha, an Emirati girl, who's name means 'beautiful eyes'. She is wearing a silky smooth jalabiya in a soft pink, gold details and beautiful eye illustrations to ward off any negativity. She would make a beautiful gift for Eid or during the Ramadan season for kids and those kids at heart - especially paired with our Petite Dumyé Emirati boy Abbud.
These dolls feature many hand-embroidered details and Dumyé's signature Purpose Pocket™; a special pocket on the backside of the doll, with a blank piece of cloth, where you can leave a meaningful message.
You also have the opportunity to add a monogrammed to your doll. We will lovingly stitch a heart, with the letter of your choice, to your doll's chest. We've been told, time and again, how special children feel discovering their doll has a heart bearing their first initial.
Stories from our Community
Out of all of the various dolls we have bought for our daughters, the Dumyé dolls have been their favorites! They are truly loved by both of our girls. Their look is so unique and elegant, each doll is an individual, and they are soft and cuddly. Also the customer service is amazing - one of our dolls was damaged by one of our dogs - it was tragic but Dumyé saved the day because we were able to send her in and she was returned to us as good as new!!
I would be remiss as well if I did not mention how much we love their mission. The thought that a child somewhere else in the world was gifted a doll because we bought one warms my heart.

My daughter received her first Dumyé doll as a birthday gift four years ago. Aside from the fact that the dolls are both beautiful and beautifully made, the story behind them is truly inspirational. My daughters Dumyé immediately became, and still is, her favourite doll and a big part of that is to do with having explained Dumyés mission to her. Amazing product. This is one of the chicest gift anyone can give to the kids! Not only, the quality of the doll and the fabric amazing, the branding including the instruction guide is done so nicely.
