#27Dresses for Charity

Sauce x Dumyé for Start #27dresses

Dumyé has teamed up with the UAE based S*uce concept stores and the charity START to create an exclusive collection of handmade dolls. Each doll was then photographed beautifully in some of Dubai's most iconic locations. The proceeds from the sales of the dolls and the photographic prints all go to support START's mission.

START is a non-profit organization running art workshops for refugees, orphans and special needs children across the Middle East and India, reaching over 2,200 children every week. They have been partners of Dumyé from the beginning and we are so happy to be able to support the important work they do, as they support ours.

A total of 27 designers, regional and international, were recruited for the project. Here are a few of our faves! (WARNING: Serious Eye Candy Below)

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Alice McCall

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Alice McCall

#SPOTTED: s*uce-on-sea
Taking the Australian designer’s own middle name, Gracie wears the stripe copper bandeau and skirt from one of her quirkiest collections. Always the eccentric, Alice McCall finished off the look with her now signature black bunny ears.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Marchesa

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Marchesa

#SPOTTED: Burj Al Arab
British designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have dressed their Georgina doll in embroidered tulle separates with poppy flower detail. She is fabulously feminine, irresistibly elegant and unmistakably Marchesa.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Krikor Jabotian

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Krikor Jabotian

#SPOTTED: At The Top, Burj Khalifa
Lebanese couturier Krikor Jabotian created a bespoke gown for Peach, inspired by his collection, “The Last Spring”. Naturally, it features delicate tulle, lace, embroidery and his signature 3D floral appliques.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Rami Kadi

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Rami Kadi

#SPOTTED: Dubai Miracle Garden
Lebanese designer Rami Kadi’s doll is named after the Arabic word for ‘light’. She is draped in flowing fabric and pastel colors, reminding us of the purity and innocence of childhood. Noor symbolizes optimism, but also how a small gesture can affect a child’s life.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Self Portrait

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Self Portrait

#SPOTTED: Dubai International Marine Club
Arabella is a fun-loving free spirit who spreads her positivity and infectious energy all around her. She wears a stunning lace bustier peplum gown with a beautiful and intricate design laced with Self-Portrait’s signature trims.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Manoush

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Manoush

#SPOTTED: The St. Regis Dubai
Farida is a city woman on vacation in England. She mixes British nostalgia with French elegance in typical Manoush style: full of embroidered, printed tiles, quirky embellishments and beautiful flowers.

S*UCE X DUMYÉ for Start by Sugar Vintage

S*UCE X DUMYÉ – Sugar Vintage

#SPOTTED: Al Nasr Leisureland
Inspired by Sugar Vintage’s upcoming collection, Emirati designer Leila Al Marashi keeps her namesake doll simple but feminine in pearl trimmed pink peplum sweatpants and a white tee.

The #27Dresses project is supported by Dubai Tourism, Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall. Want to see the full collection? They are all here - enjoy!
