Tutorial: Origami Butterfly Hair Clip
As a mother of a crafty 6 year old little girl, I'm always looking for fun projects we can do together. A little quality mommy and me time goes a long way!
We recently launched a collection of Limited Edition dolls with an origami twist which totally inspired me to make these beautiful origami butterfly hair clips with my girl.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Printed ‘Origami Hair Clip’ Mommy And Me Activity (Download Here) Includes step by step directions + 3 custom designed origami templates
- Scissors
- Markers
- Hair Clip
- Glue Gun
HOW-TO
- Cut and color your origami templates (Download Here), inspired by Dumyé’s Limited Edition origami doll collection. We used markers because they bleed through the paper creating a beautiful texture but you can use colored pencils, crayons, or even paint.
- Follow the instructions on how to fold your origami butterflies.
- Glue the hair clip of your choice to the back of your butterfly. We used a 5 cm barrett clip for ours but you could also use an alligator clip, snap clip or bobby pin.
- Voilà, your butterfly has emerged! We can’t wait to see how you style your butterfly clips.

Be sure to share and tag us in your Instagram pics @DUMYE and check out Dumyé’s Limited Edition origami doll collection. You can personalize a doll of your own and for each doll purchased one is gifted to an orphan in need. Dolls With Purpose®
